nudj. (“the app”, “we”, “us”) is a natural-language reminder and alarm app for Android. You type or speak a reminder in plain language — or photograph a schedule such as a prescription or timetable — and the app works out the date, time, and recurrence and rings an alarm for it. This policy explains what data the app handles, why, and who it is shared with. It reflects how the app works today and will be updated as features change.
The short version.
• Your reminders live on your device by default. Signing in with Google is optional and only used to back them up and to help your alarms reach you.
• When you type, speak, or scan a reminder, that one request is sent to AI services only to understand it, then the result comes back to your device.
• We do not sell your data, show ads, or run third-party analytics or trackers.
The words you type are sent to our backend, which forwards them to an AI service provider to interpret the reminder (title, date, time, recurrence). If that provider is temporarily unavailable, the same request may be handled by a backup AI provider instead. The result is returned to your device and stored locally. The text is used only to fulfil that request; we do not keep it in a user database on our server.
If you record a voice reminder, the audio is handled in one of two ways depending on the language:
The transcribed text is then interpreted as above. Audio sent for transcription is used only to transcribe your request and is not retained by us after the response.
If you use Scan a Schedule, the image or PDF you choose (for example a prescription, medicine schedule, or exam timetable) is sent to our backend and forwarded to an AI service provider to read it. For some handwritten documents a second AI provider may also read it, to make sure nothing is missed, before it is turned into reminders.
A scanned document may contain health-related information (such as a prescription). It is processed only to create the reminders you then review and confirm. Our server does not store the image or its contents after the response; the AI providers above process it under their own privacy policies.
Signing in is optional. If you choose Sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address from Google to identify your account, and your reminders are backed up to Supabase (our database provider) so you can restore them or sync across devices. Access is restricted so that only your account can read your own reminders. If you do not sign in, no account is created and nothing is uploaded.
So an alarm can still ring if the alarms saved on your phone have lapsed (for example if you haven't opened the app for a long time), our server keeps a list of your upcoming alarm times and your phone's push-notification token (from Firebase Cloud Messaging), and sends your phone a silent wake-up signal at those times. If you are not signed in, this list holds only the times and an internal reminder number, with no reminder titles, name, email or account; your phone fills in the title itself. If you are signed in, the list is kept in your account and also includes the titles. Entries are deleted two days after their time. It is used for nothing else.
When you ask nudj. to watch for a date that hasn't been announced yet (for example a film release, a match or a concert), we store your phone's push-notification token (from Firebase Cloud Messaging) next to the name of each event you watch, with no name, email or account attached. When the date is announced, moved or cancelled, our server uses it to send your phone a silent signal so the reminder can be set even if the app is closed. When you stop watching an event, its entry is removed. It is used for nothing else.
When you send someone a reminder, or invite a friend to an event you're watching, the link you send holds that reminder or event (its title, date, time and how often it repeats, or the event's name and how early you want reminding) and, if you're signed in, your first name, so they see who sent it. We don't store the link or who you sent it to, and nothing is added to their phone unless they say yes. If they install nudj. from the link, the app reads the Play Store's install referrer once on its first launch, only to offer them that same reminder or event.
When you first open nudj., it asks a few optional questions: what you tend to forget (for example medicines, bills or events you've waited ages for), whether you lose count of habits or doses, and where you heard about the app. Your answers are used on your phone to pick useful examples. If you answer them, we also store a copy anonymously, under a random install code made on your phone, with no name, email or account attached, so we can see what our users need and what brought them here. You can skip every question.
By default these are stored locally on your device. If you are signed in, a copy is also stored in your Supabase-backed account for backup and sync. The app includes Export/Import so you can keep your own backup file.
We do not collect your location, contacts, or advertising identifiers, and we do not run ads or third-party analytics/tracking SDKs.
We send these services only what is needed to fulfil your request. We do not control their retention practices; please refer to their policies for details.
Reminders and settings remain on your device until you delete them or uninstall the app. If you are signed in, your backup remains in your account until you delete those reminders (which syncs the deletion) or ask us to remove your account data. Upcoming-alarm entries for the backstop are removed after they are sent or become outdated. Anonymous welcome-question answers are kept to count trends and are never linked to you. Text, audio, and images sent to the AI services are processed to fulfil the request and are not stored in a database by us.
nudj. is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.
We may update this policy as the app evolves; the “Last updated” date above will change accordingly.
